Utter chaos as police trap protesters in South Kensington station, hitting those trying to get out

There were scenes of chaos at London's South Kensington Station as police tried to trap anti-vax protesters inside the tube station.

Attempts to leave the station were met with force by police, who hit some of those leaving with batons. It was not clear if all of those trying to leave, or pushed out by the force of those pushing behind them, were protesters or simply commuters caught up in the chaos.

The incident, on Friday 3 September, followed earlier clashes with police, including an attempt by protesters to force their way into the offices of the UK's medicines regulator, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), that ended in scuffles.

The demonstrators are so-called 'medical freedom' activists who oppose lockdowns, vaccine 'passports', vaccination of children, and sometimes vaccines in general.
