People arriving to make preparations ahead of a major London arms fair were met by protesters on Tuesday (Sept 7).

Video shows protesters, some of whom waved the national flag of Afghanistan, shouting "shame on you!" as a large truck appearing to carry military hardware arrived at the ExCel exhibition centre in east London for the DSEI 2021 arms fair.

Video also shows activists blocking an approach road to the ExCel's east gate and locking themselves to a car.

DSEI 2021, which describes itself as "the largest fully integrated defence and security show in the world, featuring air, land, naval, security and joint sectors," takes place September 14-17 and usually draws protests.

Last year's show was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
