Elderly Chinese residents force their way onto football pitch for dance class
Elderly residents smashed the lock to enter a football pitch to dance in southern China.
Video captured in the city of Zhuzhou in Hunan Province on September 20 shows around 30 elderly people gathering at the gate of a football pitch and a man using a hammer to try to smash a lock to open.
In another clip, the group of people walked onto the pitch as pupils were playing a match.
According to a football coach named Zhou, they had permission to have a football match on the pitch and the administrator tried to talk to the elderly residents but they forced their way onto the pitch.
The pitch used to be a public area for residents community residents to entertain.
The neighbourhood committee has negotiated with the residents before and told them to dance on the pitch after 8 pm but they refused and it was not the first time that residents had smashed the lock.
The neighbourhood committee contacted relevant departments to plan to get a new site with lights for residents to dance.
