A late intervention from India and China weakened wording around a commitment to end coal power and fossil fuel subsidies at the COP 26 climate conference in Glasgow, Scotland on Saturday (November 13).

Countries agreed to “phase down” rather than “phase out” coal.

Footage filmed on October 2 shows children whose faces are covered in black dust working in the neighborhood of Jharia, in India's eastern Jharkhand state. Jharia is one of India's most important coal mines and one of the largest in Asia. Jharia was once a "belt of dense forests inhabited by tribes," according to Greenpeace.

Jharia's coalfield covers about 110 square miles and is one of the country's largest coal reserves. It is also home to the longest-burning fires in the world. The area has been mined since the late 1800s.

Despite the country owning rich coal reserves, it is primarily a coal importer but also exports to neighboring countries such as Nepal and Bangladesh.

The local people's & childrens working in elligal mining in Jharia, Dhanbad several years. They are going earlier morning for mining everyday. There coal has completely fire in back side. It's very dangerous for them but they are doing for money.
They don't have any other options for earning so they do. Many families & childrens effected about gass degises & many people's died in fire.

According to footages the houses has completely clopase under the fire & its broke the houses.That's places People's living there as a challenging because fire has effected wide ground areas.

The Government has trying to move another location to these families but they didn't want to move because there nothing earning option. thats place climate has completely polluted for coal fire.
