'People residing in or visiting Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico witnessed history on January 31, 2018, when they were introduced to a "super blue blood moon."

Epic timelapse footage shows the said phenomenon gracing the sky above Hermosillo.

"A lunar eclipse, known as a blood moon because of its red glow, takes place around twice a year," the filmer, Sergio Paredes shared. "But this blood moon sighting wasn't an ordinary one.

"You see, the full moon of January 31, 2018, was the second full moon that calendar month in numerous time zones, so it was also labeled a 'blue moon.' Therefore, the event in question was dubbed a 'Super blue blood moon,' a phenomenon so rare that it occurs once every 150 years."
