A vigilant security guard foiled a trio's robbery attempt and even shot one of them down in northern India's Punjab on October 30. The incident took place in Muthoot Finance Ltd in Sunder Nagar in Ludhiana.

CCTV footage features the security guard trapping the trio of robbers inside the institution by forcefully pulling the shutter down. Following this, as the gang retaliates, the man runs towards the stairs and opens fire towards the trio, knocking one of them down. As the bullet hits the miscreant, blood splatters on the floor, and the shutter falls to the ground.

The incident unfolded at a gold loan company's office located in the Sunder Nagar region. While the guard foiled the robbery attempt and got one of the miscreants, the other two fled the scene.

According to the reports, as soon as the miscreants entered inside, took the manager to the gunpoint and opened fire on him. One bullet hit the manager. On hearing the gunshot, security guard Surjit Singh lowered the branch's shutter. The robbers threatened to shoot him by lifting the shutter but Surjeet did not open the shutter and opened fire with a 12 bore gun kept with him. Due to which a robber was dead.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, the police of Police station Daresi, police station Basti Jodhewal and Police Station Division No 4 reached the spot. After investigation, the police took the body of the robber in possession and sent it for post-mortem. Police have recovered 9 mm pistol and shell from the branch. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar along with his team reached the spot.

The police have started the investigation by taking possession of the footage of the CCTV camera. In this incident, manager Sunny Sharma, a resident of Pratap Colony, was admitted to a nearby private hospital. The miscreants are being identified. It is being told that a team of police tried to chase the miscreants but they dodged and fled. The police have also found a weapon from the way which belongs to the miscreants.
