Days after heavy rain caused severe flooding across India's Andhra Pradesh state, residents are still battling floodwaters.

During the deluge, floodwaters burst the banks of rivers, inundated thousands of homes, uprooted trees and electricity poles, and washed roads and railway lines away.

Four days after the worst of the rains stopped, many districts are still waterlogged and without electricity.

Thousands of homes have been damaged, more than a thousand are still underwater to some extent and thousands of people have been displaced to emergency camps.

Train services have also been impacted, with widespread cancellations due to damage to tracks.

Forty people have been killed in flooding related incidents so far in the state.

Fresh rain has caused panic amongst residents, with heavy rains expected to lash the southern districts of Nellore, Chittoor, Prakasam, Kadapa, and Anantapur, from November 26 to December 2.

The heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh led to a spate in several rivers, inundated thousands of homes, uprooted trees, and caused a flash flood across the state of Andhra Pradesh. Even 4 days after the rains have stopped still many districts are waterlogged and people are living without electricity. Heavy rains caused the inundation of low-lying areas and disrupted normal life.

Due to the rainfall and floods in 4 districts, trees and electric poles were uprooted, hundreds of electricity feeders, substations, and distribution lines were also damaged. More than 100 express trains have been canceled due to the damage caused to tracks near Nellore and around 2000 houses damaged and over 1000 houses are still submerged and thousand displaced and moved to relief camps for safety.

so far over 40 people have been killed in rain-related incidents in the state of Andhrapradesh.

Incessant heavy rains followed by floods in four coastal districts of Andhrapradesh battered the cities and leaves huge destruction and damages. Fresh spells in parts of the district create panic among the residents as the floods from the previous rains have not completely receded.

More heavy rains are likely to lash southern districts of Nellore, Chittoor, Prakasam, Kadapa, and Anantapur from November 26 to December 2.IMD forecast said a cyclonic circulation lies over South Andaman Sea and neighborhoods at lower tropospheric levels. It is likely to move west-northwestwards over the next 4-5 days. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rains are very likely with isolated extremely heavy rains from Friday.

Officials have been alerted and advised to take necessary precautions to minimize life and property damage.
