Police in Istabul, Turkey, attacked women demonstrating against violence against women, on Thursday 25 November.

A largely female crowd were marching on the Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. They had gathered in Tünel Square in the Taksim area. But, determined to stop them marching to Galatasaray Square, police used rubber bullets and tear gas against them.

On the 25th of November, the Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, women came together in Tünel Square in Taksim, Istanbul. The police attacked the women who wanted to march to Galatasaray Square with rubber bullets and tear gas. Many people were affected by the attack.
