Gales from Storm Arwen caused disruption in Newquay in Cornwall on Friday (November 26).

Police closed off Cliff Road in the centre of this busy Cornish town as part of a roof on a commercial property in the town centre overlooking Newquay bay was taken off.

Fire and rescue services used a hi-lift platform to bring roof material to safety.

Meanwhile Black Friday shoppers outside the adjacent supermarket struggled to stay upright in the fierce winds.
