Frustration, closed stations and long queues for London's Black Friday tube strike

London commuters and Black Friday shoppers were frustrated on 26 November, as a tube strike paralysed public transport in the UK capital.

Long queues built up at bus stops as people used other means of transport to get around the city.

Crowds were also seen at Oxford Circus station, which was closed for a time amid overcrowding on the tube lines that were still running.

The Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly, and Northern lines were directly hit by the strike.

Transport for London, which runs the city's tube network, says drivers have been told they would have to work four night shift weekends a year. TFL also said no jobs would be lost.

But the RMT union says that planned changes would "wreck the work-life balance" of it's members.
