After spending three years travelling the world, this videographer surprised his entire friends and family back in his homeland of the Netherlands and completely shocked them.

Ahrien Deylami had been exploring the nature and beauty of New Zealand for the prior eight months, but the end of 2020 marked the end of his travels for now and decided to return to his home of the Netherlands and stun his closest friends and family.

He spent the previous three years travelling the world including Switzerland, Iran, Turkey and South East Asia but after his visa could not be extended in New Zealand, Ahrien made plans for a final road trip before flying home, and prepared to surprise his family.

The unknowing parents, siblings, cousins and friends for Ahrien were all staggered by the appearance of him showing up unannounced with some welling up and shedding a tear.

His father was on the sofa after a day at work and was instantly brought to tears when he saw his boy in the flesh, whilst Ahrien's cousins jaw dropped to the floor when she realised who was approaching her.

Ahrien said: "I planned to just be at the door step unannounced, to see everyone’s reaction.

"I did expect a simple hello, but everybody was so emotional.

"For me i planned this trip months in advance so I was prepared but the reaction of friends and family was one the could not prepare for."
