Two Residents Escape From Burning Home After Being Alerted by Smoke Detectors

Hemet Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a house on fire in the 1600 block of W Montrose Ave in Hemet, California. Arriving crews located a single story family residence with flames and smoke showing. Firefighters initiated fire attack and had the fire knocked down in about 10 minutes. The homeowner and his wife were inside the residence and were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors and were able to make it out of the home safely. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and under investigation.
