This is the stunning lights and sights of the Newport Beach, California boat parade on December 9.
"I would say nearly every home lining the Newport Harbor gets decked out for this annual tradition. During the Christmas Boat Parade week, we typically have at least 150 registered decorated boats participating in the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, plus, any additional boats & Duffy’s that are cruising around. As the decorated boats get ready to start the parade, they line up to stretch at least a half a mile long," the filmer said.

Every year, Newport Harbor comes alive with holiday decor; homes, yachts, docks, and even whole landscapes are transformed into a magical holiday experience. Newport harbor begins its holiday decorations after Thanksgiving, and by now, Newport Harbor is richly illuminated with thousands of lights and hundreds of themed decorated estates. I would say nearly every home lining the Newport Harbor gets decked out for this annual tradition. During the Christmas Boat Parade week, we typically have at least 150 registered decorated boats participating in the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, plus, any additional boats & Duffy’s that are cruising around. As the decorated boats get ready to start the parade, they line up to stretch at least a ½ a mile long!
One of the BEST options to experience the parade is on the water, aboard one of our decorated vessels from Davey’s Locker & Newport Landing. We sell general admission tickets to cruise around with the parade, watch the parade cruise around us, and we even go back into the harbor to view decorated estates that are only visible from a boat.
Other viewing options are located along Balboa Island, and along the Balboa Peninsula near Marina Park, and along streets facing the harbor between 13th- 11th street in Newport. The City of Newport Beach also always posts a map of the scheduled parade route on the City’s website, so you can always take a look at that prior to planning where you will be viewing the parade on the Peninsula during the Christmas Boat Parade.
If you’d like to join us aboard a Holiday themed cruise, but you’re unavailable during the dates of the Boat Parade, we offer Holiday Cruises starting now through December 31st to tour the Newport Beach harbor for 75 mins & check out the decorated estates aboard our decorated vessels with holiday themed drinks & music. They’re a LOT of fun, and a great way to experience the magic of the holidays with friends & family!
