A driver had an extremely lucky escape when they walked away from a dramatic car crash in the suburbs of LA that completely destroyed their vehicle.

The crash happened overnight on Saturday 11 December. At around midnight California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the area of 2302 Noglas Street over reports of a vehicle smashed into a tree.

The vehicle was completely wrecked but incredibly the driver was alive and was taken to a local hospital.

Radio traffic indicated that the driver was only complaining of ankle pain.

The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which happened at a site only 40 feet (12m) from where a drunk driver crashed into a house on Thanksgiving Eve.

At 12:00 AM, CHP and LACFD responded to 2302 Noglas St. for reports of a vehicle into a tree. Arriving engines located a single vehicle into a tree with MAJOR damage. The drive was lucky to be alive and was transported to a local hospital. Per radio traffic, the driver was only complaining of ankle pain. CHP is investigating the crash.
