Japan: Record Breaking Heavy Snow Blankets Shiga, Western Japan
A strong winter low-pressure system brought record-breaking snowfall to western Japan and caused travel chaos on Monday, December 27. According to reports, Hikone city in Shiga Prefecture saw 73 centimeters (28.7 inches) of snow.
