Oldham Athletic fans protested against the the ownership of the club during their 6-0 battering at home which led to fights between the fans and the stewards.

Tom Farraday, 18, captured the fans trying to flee the pitch as stewards chased them into the Jimmy Frizzell stand at Boundary Park, Oldham on the evening of January 4th.

The fan-led protests against owner, Abdallah Lemsagam, caused multiple stoppages during the Letics game against Wigan Athletic, culminating in a scrappy affair between the stewards and fans.

Tom's footage shows approximately a hundred fans running across the pitch as club officials and staff chased after them whilst the players waited for the game to resume.

People took refuge in the stand but a few stragglers were apprehended and forced into and over the advertising boards as both sides were wrestling.

Eventually the fans were able to help after a heated exchange, before the math was able to restart.

Tom said: "I was shocked more than anything.

"Young kids were being assaulted by stewards.

"It got paused for a few minutes while they were taken of the pitch and then play continued."

Oldham Athletic have been approached for comment but still awaiting reply.
