Police in Bristol forcibly removed demonstrators taking part in a Kill The Bill protest on Saturday evening (January 15).

Demonstrators blocking a road were removed as the protest on College Green began to draw to a close. Chants of "police violence" could be heard from the crowd as police arrested one protester, who later could be heard shouting "I can’t breathe" as police carried him to a van.

Several such protests took place around the UK ahead of a vote in the House of Lords on Monday.

Protesters say the Government's Policing Bill is a crackdown on the right to assembly, freedom of expression and other civil liberties.
