Sometimes even deer need to be taught to look both ways before crossing the road.

Patrick O'Leary, 22, was driving when he watched a deer wandering a parking lot, and then make an attempt to cross the street.

Patrick said: "A kind older lady stood at the end of the street with the deer and slowly walked across and motioned to the deer to go with her.

"I was amazed at how the deer understood what was happening, and how kind and thoughtful the woman was to help this animal across."

Patrick has applied to study veterinary medicine at Western University in the fall, so he said it made him extraordinarily happy to see how well the animal was being cared for.
