This skier wouldn't have won gold at the Winter Olympics as they crashed into a mound of snow in hilarious fashion.

Filmed in Japan on February 2, the footage shows Mike D weaving in and out of some trees before crashing headfirst into the snow.

Mike said: "I was on a ski trip with my buddy Sage in Japan and spent a week exploring the area around Myoko.

"I saw a beautiful line to ski but I didn't know where it went. In the middle of the line, I came into contact with some tight trees and then fell off the side of a ridge into a hole at the bottom."

The skier in question, Mike D., kicks off his run on an impressive note but it doesn't take him long to run into a cluster of trees before crashing in a puff of snow.
