A London borough is facing growing calls to rename the street where the Russian Embassy is located 'Zelenskyy Avenue' as a gesture of solidarity with Ukraine following Vladimir Putin’s invasion.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been praised for his courageous response to the invasion.

The Liberal Democrat party made the public appeal to the west London council of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

A number of cities in Europe have already announced they are changing the names of streets that base Russian embassies.

This archive footage from February 23 shows people gathering outside the embassy a day before the invasion to voice their anger at Russian aggression.
