London's Metropolitan Police breached the rights of the organisers of a vigil for Sarah Everard, two High Court judges ruled on Friday (March 11).

Previously unseen footage, which contains swearing, shows tense scenes between police and attendees of the vigil, which took place on March 13, 2021 in Clapham Common, south London.

At a hearing at the High Court in January, four women said the police breached their right to freedom of speech and assembly.

The women's solicitor, Theodora Middleton, said: "Today's judgment is a victory for women."

Everard was murdered by a serving Met Police officer Wayne Couzens.
