The last number of the Rolling stones set at Hyde Park 06.07. 2013 Viewed from the 'Salt of the earth' enclosure, ie outside the perimeter fence where about 4,000 ticketless Londoners hung around on a perfect summer's evening listened in on the 'Barclaycard' sponsored sounds for free. I love the atmosphere for this final number, we still know how to throw a party!!!
I was there when the Stones played for free 44 years ago, times sure have changed but I was delighted to observe the festivities from my unique vantage point.... The joy those old songs unleashed in the crowd outside was testament to the power of those songs, I could almost forgive Sir Michael of Jagger his unforgivable pro Thatcher quote after witnessing this... NOT!
