Around 150 protesters gathered in front of the Russian embassy in Madrid today (March 19) to denounce the invasion of Ukraine and the detention of anti-war protesters in Russia.

"Freedom of expression," the demonstrators chanted as they held sheets of white paper.

More than 750 people have been arrested in cities across Russia for protesting against Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, which is now in its third week.

Independent monitoring group OVD-Info said on March 13 that police had arrested at least 756 people during demonstrations in 37 Russian cities.
