A timelapse caught the secret 'sleeping' motions of a group of plants after dark.

The strange phenomenon, known as nyctinasty, is triggered by changes in light and temperature causing the plants to shift position over time.

The three moving plants were a sweet chocolate pepper on the right, a squash in the centre and a zucchini on the right.

Nyctinasty is the circadian rhythmic nastic movement of higher plants in response to darkness, or a plant "sleeping", associated with diurnal light and temp changes controlled by circadian clock.
The sweet chocolate pepper on the right moves the most of all the plants filmed. Centre plant is a squash and the plant on the right is a Zucchini.
