Harris County Deputy Shot and Killed Outside Joe V's Smart Shop off FM1960
At about 8:40 p.m. on March 31, 2022, dispatchers received a call of a officer-involved shooting. According to Sheriff Ed. Gonzalez, the officer "observed suspects committing a criminal offense. As the deputy approached, the males opened fire and the deputy returned fire". The deputy was struck and taken to a local hospital where he passed away.
