Swan spots heron basking on side of canal, and chases it off
A heron is minding its own business basking in the sun on the side of a canal in Gloucestershire, England, at Easter weekend 2022. A swan glides along the canal, towards where the heron is being filmed. The swan then appears to notice the heron and makes a sudden lunge at it, making the heron fly away.
It is quite possible that the swan was heading towards the humans on the bank, thinking they might give it some food, and suspected the heron of muscling in on its meal.
