Large religious gatherings were banned in the Philippines for the last two years due to COVID-19 restrictions.

A survey in 2000 reported that about 5 per cent of the population of the Philippines is Muslim, making Islam the second-largest religion in the country.

Other estimates put the figure at 11 per cent.
