A waterfall overflowed after heavy rain in southern Thailand.

Footage shows the Sipo waterfall gushing violently in Pattani province on May 7.

Officers were closely monitoring the raging waterfall located in a national park while national park officials have already instructed tourists to check the weather condition before visiting as a safety precaution.

A national park officer said: 'Please check with us first before visiting these sites. Everyone should keep themselves safe.'

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are reaching the start of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which last until late November.

Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods which cause rivers to flow faster and become dangerous.
