Dozens suffer injuries after passenger plane catches fire during takeoff in China
Dozens suffered minor injuries after a passenger plane caught fire during takeoff in southern China.
Video filmed in the city of Chongqing on May 12 shows heavy smoke and flames coming out of the Tibet Airlines TV 9833 from Chongqing to Nyingchi.
According to the flight crew, the plane had an anomaly during takeoff, so they stopped it.
After the plane skidded off the runway, the engine scraped the ground and caught fire.
The nine crew members and 113 passengers all have been evacuated safely. However, 36 people suffered sprains and bruises during the evacuation.
The fire has been extinguished.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
