A motorcycle rider was clotheslined after trying to beat a level crossing barrier.

The rider, who was apparently not wearing a helmet, maintained his speed despite the warning signals in Yala province, Thailand on May 6.

However, the bungling rider appeared to have ignored the lowering barrier and miscalculated the distance causing him to smash through the bar.

CCTV footage shows the rider hitting the barrier before being knocked to the ground.

An officer from Raman Police District said: ’The rider was injured. He did not slow down and ignored the warning. This should be a lesson to other riders.’

The rider was given treatment for his injuries after police arrived at the scene.

There were no official charges made against him yet for violation of the Road Traffic Act.
