Observers witnessed scenes described as like a horticultural zombie movie during the annual plant take-down at the Chelsea Flower Show on Saturday 28 May.

Members of the public raced to get their hands on plants that had been on display. It took just 30 minutes to strip some displays bare.

The Flower Show's floral marquee doesn’t offer plant sales, until the 4pm on the final day of the show (Saturday), after which it can become a bit of a free-for-all.

Punters used shopping bags, rucksacks and even trollies to carry as many plants as they could.
