An excavator's wheel chock smashed into a car travelling behind it, leaving a huge crack on the windscreen.

Dashcam footage shows how the wedge fell from the heavy vehicle and rolled across the road towards driver Nattawat Yodbunruang's car as he drove along Chonburi province in Thailand on May 21.

The dangerous object scratched the pickup truck's bonnet and cracked its windshield but luckily did not pierce through the glass.

Nattawat, 26, then parked his car to inspect the damage and saw that the projectile was a heavy rubber chock used to keep a vehicle's wheels from moving.

The excavator operator was reportedly unaware of the accident and carried on driving on the highway.

A frustrated Nattawat said: 'I want the excavator owner to take responsibility for this. Other road users should also be careful when driving. They may not be as lucky as I am.'
