A dramatic video has emerged of a car crashing into a deer on a road in North Idaho, USA on Monday.

The footage, captured on a dashcam, shows the animal smashing through the windscreen after trying to run across the road.

Writing online after the incident, the filmer - who escaped unscathed - said: "It was a bright, sunny day. The deer literally came out of nowhere. The sides of the road were sloped, and it just leaped out. I was driving roughly 60mph, which was the speed limit."
