A keepers was fired after hitting an orangutan on face during a live stream in central China.

Video filmed in the city of Zhengzhou in Henan Province on June 11 shows a keeper suddenly using her knee to hit an orangutan's face.

The keeper was heard saying to the orangutan: "What's wrong with you? Let's go home. You step on my foot!"

On June 13, Yinji International Tourist Resort issued an apology letter saying the keeper has been fired and fortunately the orangutan is in good health condition.

An angry netizen commented on Chinese social media saying "She was only fire? Abusing animals against the law and she should have been arrested and sentenced."
