Members of India's congress burned an effigy with the picture of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday (June 20) over the Agnipath scheme and accused the leadership of being "arrogant and dictatorial."

Congress president Sohan Mewara said, “The entire country is passing through a very delicate and difficult phase. Modi government and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are promoting communal animosities to divert the nation’s attention away from failures on all fronts. Apart from inciting communal hatred, the Narendra Modi government is taking recourse to vilify Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other party members for the same reason. Congress will reach out to citizens of the country to expose the failures and the BJP mindset.”
