Two Burmese fishermen floating on plastic boxes were rescued after their boat capsized in the Andaman Sea.

The pair were found near the maritime border between Thailand and Myanmar on June 26, holding onto wooden crates to keep themselves afloat.

They were reportedly making fish deliveries from Koh Song in Myanmar to a market in Ranong province in Thailand when heavy winds and water swells upended their boat.

Navy officers patrolling the area came to their aid after spotting the men and their shipment drifting near Koh Saranee.

The Burmese nationals are now recovering from the ordeal, and have thanked the Thai army for their help. A boat trip has been arranged to send the two back to their families in Myanmar.
