A bird flew around the cabin of a China Eastern Airlines flight at a high altitude.

Video filmed in the city of Hefei in Anhui Province on June 28 shows a bird flying inside the cabin of China Eastern Airlines flight MU6692 and the aircrew trying to catch it.

A passenger told Anhui Television that the bird looked like a sparrow and it was caught by the crew within five minutes.

Chen Jianguo, the senior captain said that it was impossible for the bird to enter the cabin when the plane was flying.

The equipment in the cabin that the bird was able to touch would not cause any safety risks and the bird could not fly into the cockpit.

"The bird only made passengers feel curious, it had no impact on flight's safety," Chen said.

The customer service of China Eastern Airlines responded that the case is being investigated and a follow-up announcement will be issued.

资深机长陈建国表示，小鸟不可能是在飞行的时候进入机舱的。客舱内，小鸟能接触到的设备通常都不会因为小鸟撞击或存在而有任何安全风险；驾驶舱有门，小鸟飞不进去，干扰不到驾驶舱的正常操作，“只会让乘客感到好奇，不会对飞行安全有任何影响。”
