Matthew, a wildlife photographer and conservationist based in Oregon, USA, has been working on a burrowing owl research study for 3 years now. With the decline of badgers in his scientific area, there is a lack of badger holes which these little owls depend on for nests. They lay eggs in them and raise them from the burrows.

Matthew grabs each owl and places them in a man-made tunnel for them to nest in.
