A pair of music lovers got engaged at a festival last weekend - five years after they first met at the event. Ruby Victoria Mcleod first laid eyes on boyfriend Billy Milligan at a party back in 2017 -and they decided to spend the entire Glastonbury Festival together just two weeks later. They became a couple shortly after and, five years later, romantic Billy decided to pop the question where it all began. Dropping to one knee at Worthy Farm last weekend, Billy, now 27, knelt in the same place where he'd fallen in love with Ruby, now 25, and asked his shocked girlfriend if she would marry him. The romantic proposal was a roaring success with Ruby accepting the ring before hugging Billy in front of the iconic huge Glastonbury letters as bystanders cheered around them. Ruby, who is a business partner and category specialist and lives in Langport with personal trainer Billy, said: "I had no idea he would ask at Glastonbury - although looking back at it now, it was absolutely perfect! "He said we were going up to the sign to meet up with friends, and we took a group photo with everyone and then he asked to have a photo just me and him. "This was where I first noticed something was up, as he would never ask for photos, and there were about 20 cameras pointing at us! "He went down on one knee and just asked! We hugged, cried and celebrated with everyone. We went to the nearest bar and bought a bottle of bubbly to celebrate. "It was a surreal experience, I’m still pinching myself!"
