A kitten was rescued after getting trapped inside a pickup truck's engine while escaping dogs.

The stray feline darted under the broken vehicle to hide from a pack of strays in Nakhon Si Thammarat province province on June 30.

When an onlooker went to check the car, he heard the cat crying as it struggled to find a way out.

Animal rescuers were called to the scene who called the car's owner and freed the black kitten.

The driver Puttarak said: ‘The kitten had run away from the dogs and then went into the car's engine to hide.

‘I opened the car's hood and knocked inside to chase the kitten out but it didn't so I called the rescuers to ask for help.'

The car was taken to a nearby mechanics to be checked while the cat was adopted by a nearby resident.
