The McKinney Fire raging in Northern California since Friday afternoon (July 29) has killed two people and forced thousands to evacuate as it exploded in size over the weekend.

The fire has burned over 55,493 acres as of Monday evening (August 1), according to Cal Fire, making it the largest wildfire in California this year.
