A driver who allegedly hit other motorists led cops on a frantic car chase in the Philippines.

The hit-and-run suspect, Clint Xerwynn Kho, 35, reportedly fled as officers tried to arrest him for ramming into other vehicles in the capital Manila on July 21.

Dramatic footage shows Clint driving a white SUV through the city's cramped streets with officers in pursuit. While he was caught in traffic, a policeman with a pistol was seen running towards his car. Loud gunshots followed shortly after, sending commuters and pedestrians scurrying away from the scene.

Moments later, the battered SUV barreled across the road's centre island, its bumper dangling from the front and its right front tyre reportedly blown up.

Officers cornered Clint along the Delpan Bridge. In a bid to escape, he allegedly hit even more vehicles in the districts of Tondo and Binondo, but police did not clarify how many.

Police Corporal John Patrick Manaol of the Manila Police Traffic Bureau said: 'They tried to apprehend the suspect, but he ignored them and even beat the red light, so they gave chase. They tailed him all around the city.'

Clint is now facing a string of charges, including resistance and disobedience to a person of authority, and reckless imprudence resulting in multiple damage to property.
