Environmental protesters blocked a road in Sydney, Australia, on Sunday 7 August for a minute's silence for the victims of climate change.

Climate groups marched from Town Hall to Hyde Park North to demand no new fossil fuel projects, including Kurri Kurri, Narrabri, Beetaloo and Burrup Hub.

They also demanded an end to what they called the profiteering of power companies with, instead, 100% publicly-owned renewable energy by 2030.

Under the slogan of 'climate jobs and a just transition now' they also campaigned against plans by Santos, an oil and gas company, for a gas project on land that is subject to a native title claim by Gomeroi peoples.

They also object to logging and what they called police repression of climate protesters.
