East Sussex Fire was called to a residential property on Eaton Gardens, Hove, at 11.29 pm, following reports of a fire.

Firefighters from Brighton, Hove, Roedean, Lewes, and crews from West Sussex FRS rushed to the location. The blaze was at the top of a four-story building.

Two people were taken to the hospital.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) said at 2:30 am “We will be on scene for the next few hours ensuring that the fire has been extinguished, to counter any flare-ups, and to ensure that the scene is safe".

At 23:29 (9th August), East Sussex Fire were called to attend a residential property on Eaton Gardens, Hove following reports of a fire.

Firefighters from Brighton, Hove, Roedean, Lewes and crews from West Sussex FRS attended.

The fire was at the top of a four storey building and two residents were handed over in to the care of SECAMB.

ESFRS said at 2:30am “We will be on scene for the next few hours ensuring that the fire has been extinguished, to counter any flare ups and to ensure that the scene is safe.”

“The cause of the fire is not yet known.”
