A tourist fled from his car after encountering a wild elephant on a road for the first time in Myanmar.

Footage shows truck drivers backing up and shouting at another vehicle in front to stop in Racine state on July 18.

The man was reportedly overwhelmed of the elephant's size and ditched his car when the jumbo approached.

Passenger Ko Kyaw San Linn said: ‘The driver tried to back off the car as soon as we saw the elephant but he was scared and ran out of the car.'

No one was hurt and the elephant disappeared back into the forest, ignoring the men.
