Helicopters were used to transfer injured villagers after a 6.8-magnitude earthquake hit southern China.

Video filmed in the county of Luding in Sichuan Province on September 5 shows firefighters carrying injured people out of a village and tying them to the rope hanging from a helicopter.

Since communication was interrupted and the road, water and electricity were cut off in Gonghe Village, three helicopters were deployed to transfer six people who suffered serious injuries in the earthquake to a safer area.

9月5日12时52分，四川甘孜州泸定县磨西镇附近发生6.8级地震，造成震中附近的磨西镇共和村6名村民受伤，交通阻断，成为孤岛。
据了解，地震后，因通讯中断，一直无法联系上泸定县磨西镇共和村，当地政府调集救援力量想方设法向村庄挺进。9月6日上午，四川省森林消防总队特勤大队、成都市消防救援支队特勤大队以及甘孜州公安局特勤支队100多人徒步和翻山成功抵达共和村。
经现场了解，磨西镇共和村常住人口有800余人，地震后道路、水、电全部中断，外界也一直无法与村庄联系上。四川森林消防总队工作人员在救援现场介绍，这是地震之后救援人员最晚到达的地方，因为这个村道路都塌方了。由于救援人员来的晚，村里道路中断，车辆无法通行，外界的援助也无法到位。“现在这边最大的困难是缺水缺粮。“目前最大的困难是缺水缺粮，经省地震救援指挥部及时调来3架直升机，13时10分已将6名重伤员转移到安全地区。”
初步统计显示，共和村村民重伤有6人，3人不幸遇难。目前救援转移灾民工作正在进行中。（视频由四川台提供）
