An excavator was used to carry locals over a body of water after flash floods destroyed a bridge in Yen Bai, Vietnam.

Footage from September 4 shows residents climbing into the digger's bucket to be carried across the water.

The only bridge leading out of the village was destroyed, prompting the excavator to be used to transport locals.

According to locals, flash floods suddenly appeared in their area and washed away the only bridge leading out of the village. Landslides occurred in the hills around the village causing everyone to panic. The excavator driver in the village quickly drove the excavator to the place where the bridge was washed away and used the excavator bucket to move the people trapped in the village to safety.
Heavy rains continued to occur in the area, making it impossible for people to return home.
