Four members of the public faint in same street as crowds build up after Queen's coffin procession ended

Hundreds of people filtered out of Whitehall into Great George Street after the Queen's coffin procession ended (September 14), when four members of the public fainted in the space of 20 minutes due to crowds building up and not being able to leave. The afflicted received medical attention from paramedics on the ground.

There was criticism of how the authorties dealt with the event, after large metal barriers appeared, blocking the view and the access of spectators, some of whom missed the procession entirely simply because they could find no way in.
