A group of American students arrives at Bodh Gaya, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in India, to experience the life of a monk.

During their stay, the students will receive Buddhist teachings and join special prayers at Mahabodhi temple, a site that is believed to be the location where Buddha attained enlightenment.

The students, who are introduced to Buddhism according to Thai tradition, will attend Shramner, an initiation path dedicated to individuals that are interested in understanding the "dharma", the doctrine and universal truth.

The American group will also perform Puja, worship rituals that focus on reflection and chanting.

A group of students from USA has reached Bodh Gaya to know and understand Buddhism.

He came here and took initiation of a Buddhist monk and offered special prayers at the Mahabodhi temple.

In the sanctum sanctorum offered a chiver to Lord Buddha and prayed for world peace. Prior to this, at the Royal Thai Temple, Thailand's top Buddhist monk gave initiation to Buddhism.

Students who become Buddhist monks will live the life of monks for some time. After that the householders will return to the life. Foreign students were initiated according to Thai tradition.

There is a tradition in Thailand that a man is required to wear a chevre once in his lifetime. Following the same tradition, the students of USA have also taken initiation of Shramner by wearing chevre. Now as long as they stay in the cemetery, they will follow the monk's religion.

If there is a desire to accept for life, then they can take it for life also. By taking initiation from Shramner, other Buddhists will circumambulate the circuit. After taking initiation, these students performed special poojas in a Thai temple and sought blessings from Lord Buddha for the welfare of all beings on earth.
