A heavy downpour that continued all day on Saturday 24 September in the greater Delhi area flooded several key roads, causing major traffic jams on remaining routes.

The local weather department has warned that the rain will continue for the next two days, threatening more traffic chaos.

Despite deep water some driver and motorbike riders still attempted to navigate flooded roads, though some of the latter in particular were forced to push their bikes when the engines flooded.

The incessant downpour throughout the day in Delhi-NCR resulted in a chock-a-block situation on various intersections as several key connecting roads were inundated. As the national capital witnessed a flood-like situation on Friday the weather department has warned that rainfall will continue for the next two days.

The continuous rains led to severe waterlogging in several areas and affected traffic movement on key roads across the city. Rains are likely to lash the national capital on the weekend too. In view of the heavy rainfall, private schools have been asked to remain closed in Noida and Gurugram on Friday. Long traffic snarls were reported in the Delhi-NCR region and more rain has been predicted for the region.
